dew at dawn
Tuesday, February 21

What a glorious morning. Went to the designated area early as an advance party, since I'm excused from this activity, and what sights of nature I saw!

It was pitch black when we first arrived, the kind of darkness where you can't even see the outline of your five fingers when you hold out your hand. As we unloaded stuff from the 5-tonner, the sun rose above the trees, and we witness the slow process as the environment was kissed with the golden rays of the warm sun. The gradually changing hues of the sky at dawn will never cease to amaze me, seriously.

Later as I set up the sandbags in the grassy area, a sweeping glance across the field revealed numerous clusters of cotton puffs littered across the place. Upon closer inspection, I realised that these white masses were spiders' webs, covered with minute little droplets of dew! I've heard of these in Chinese textbooks from way back in primary school before, but I've never yet seen the sight for myself --- well that is, until today. And I assure you, the sight is perfectly beautiful. The tiny, clear drops of dew clinging on to the extra-fine threads of the spider web... my my, simply breathtaking! What's more I got to see an entire stretch of them all together!

How blessed I am, that God has granted me such a deep sense of appreciation for the beauty in nature, then arranging for it to be possible for me to see it all! These sights, sounds, and scents of nature --- they continually remind me of God's glory and creativity in creating all these, and His constant love and presence which is with me, sometimes manifesting through nature.

Beautiful is our God
The universe will sing
Hallelujah to You our King!"
